What is quartz and why designers love it

Quartz (engineered stone) is around 90% natural quartz bound with a strong resin. The result: a surface that coffee, wine and grease can’t penetrate, that needs no sealing and looks exactly like the catalogue. That predictability of pattern and colour is what designers value most — an interior can be planned to the last detail.

A particular strength is marble-effect decors: the beauty of natural veining with none of the care. If you want the look of marble in a busy kitchen, quartz is the most practical route.

How does quartz differ from natural stone?

Quartz is ~90% natural quartz, but the pattern is created in a factory — it’s consistent and predictable. Natural stone is unique in every slab but needs more care. We show both side by side in the showroom.

Which brand should I choose?

Silestone — the most textures and the signature matt Suede; Technistone — best price-to-quality; Caesarstone — calm classics from the material’s inventor; Avant — expressive marble effects. We help you choose for your interior and budget.

Can I put a hot pot on quartz?

We recommend a trivet: sudden heat can damage the resin. If you put hot pots straight on the surface, look at granite or ceramic.
